London Houses for Rent

i need to rent a place in east london (house share). what parts of london should i avoid?

and which are nice safe areas that i should look for a place in? thanks ok, i thought that could be the case. i work at e16 (next to west india quay DLR). where else could i look for a houseshare? dont mind 30mins commuting to work.

    They're aren't any, have you ever watched Eastenders?
    Surrey Quays and Greenwich are nice areas, but they're probably a bit more southerly than you want to be.

    i live hackney and i know u hear a lot of nasty things about the borough ( must of which r probably true) but the area i live in is really nice and i wont give it up for anything. stoke newington fondly called stokey is where is home to me now and is a great place. the transport system in the area is good as there r buses to anywhere in london from there, nice resturants, gyms, whatever u've got it. come live in stokey!
